Pete and Repeat were on a boat… Pete fell out, who is left?
Repeat… That is what I’m doing today with my wardrobe. I’m so sorry I neglected last week’s WIWW!! Actually it was Thursday morning when I was thinking what will I wear for today’s post when it hit me.. it was THURSDAY! Last Wednesday was so busy I didn’t know what was what. Two major things went down: I had a job interview; our realtor emailed about a new listing just on the market that sounded perfect for us.
Job interview went good and sounded like something that would be a great fit. They called within a few hours and offered me the job! I took it.
Our realtor advised us to look at the house that evening if possible. We met her after work and looked through the house and decided to put in an offer. We filled out paperwork and the next day I got a certified check for earnest money. My cousin also informed us that he was going to go ahead pulling our credit about a month earlier than we had previously discussed. Talk about a NERVOUS NELLIE — we have been trying to get our credit cleaned up and in shape, many times to pull it with high hopes only to be disappointed — for one reason or another never quite what we were aiming for.
When he called informing me that the credit had been pulled, he sighed. I could feel myself deflate and said “great.. now what?” Then he started laughing and shouting “it’s good! it’s good! it’s better than we wanted it to be!” I can not tell you how elated I was in that moment. It felt like a huge weight had been lifted to know that finally our credit was where we had been striving for, actually above it!
Thursday (last week) we were able to put in an offer on the house. That evening we found out that there had been another offer made. We discussed with our realtor what our best offer would be and Friday she put in another offer from us. We are still waiting to hear back. All we know is that we will hear something this week. The waiting game is terrible! It seems like things are just dragging slowly now and we are trying to avoid doing something rash — for instance — looking at another house, falling for it and withdrawing our current offer to put down another one. If we haven’t heard anything by this Friday tho, it may be the option we choose.
So anyways, while we wait… back to where I started this post: What I’m wearing today is also what I wore last Wednesday.. just so you wouldn’t miss anything 😉

“I love new clothes. If everyone could just wear new clothes everyday, I reckon depression wouldn’t exist anymore.”
― Sophie Kinsella, Confessions of a Shopaholic
I love getting new clothes. And I love to wear them as soon as possible. It’s like I have this compelling urge to show off the wonderful treasures resulting from my diligent searching of racks.
When I was younger I would usually wear my new items the day after getting them. In fact, on some occasions, I would even wear the new item(s) before even leaving the store they were purchased in.
Proof some things never change. The day I bought this dress — I wore it that night!
Dress -Target ** I love the buttons and pockets!! **

Necklace – Gift from my hubby (our first Christmas)
How long do you wait to wear a new purchase?

“When a woman says, ‘I have nothing to wear!’, what she really means is, ‘There’s nothing here for who I’m supposed to be today.”
― Caitlin Moran, How To Be A Woman
I had a difficult time deciding what I wanted to wear today. No combination immediately jumped in my mind as “ooh! wear me!“.
Ken called me to let me know he made it to work -part of our morning routine- so as I stood in the closet staring at the rack, our conversation included this:
him: what are you doing
me: picking out something to wear today
him: fuuun (the usual response)
after a few other statements about work, dinner and such
me: i don’t know what to wear
him: wear a skirt
me: can’t.. i need to shave
him: well… wear some pants.
I love him.
Skirt: JC Penny
Footless Tights: Wal-Mart
Manicure(first ever with my real nails!): Solar Nails
p.s. I guess I did go with his first suggestion… just added tights! (they are similar to duck tape – can fix just about anything)
Why does it have to be wrong or right?
Why does it have to be one way or the other?
Won’t somebody please, please tell me.
Why does it have to be black or white? — Restless Heart

It Doesn’t Matter If You’re Black Or White — Michael Jackson
Yes, I know. Two completely different songs, but this string of lyrics popped into my head this morning when deciding to go with a black & white color scheme.
It’s just how my brain relates sometimes… in song lyrics. and movie quotes.

“Happiness consists in getting enough sleep. Just that, nothing more.”
— Robert A. Heinlein
As soon as I read this quote I knew I had to make use of it! I whole-heartedly agree: Sleep can equal happiness. I know I love my sleep!
Ever have an issue, problem, or decision that seems impossibly big and overwhelming? Usually if I can put off the decision til I get some rest, I can deal with it better. When I wake up, the situation doesn’t seem as unsolvable or as huge as it might have to begin with. I also tend to be in a better frame of mind emotionally (not as mad, upset, sad, or overwhelmed as I initially was). The expression to “sleep on it” certainly seems like advice to be heeded.
Of course, a sufficient amount of sleep is also tied with weight loss and eating habits along with generally enhancing your mood, feel rested and more alert in the mornings. (something I could definitely use)
How is this leading up to WIWW? (I promise I had a point when I began!) I was able to get in bed earlier last night! Yippee!!(have I mentioned I love my sleep) So, upon waking this morning, my eyes did not feel like they would rather stay glued shut and I did not wander back to the couch to sit for “five more minutes” before getting ready for work. By no means was I chipper, wide-awake, and ready to get the day going. I was, however, able to get some neurons firing to be able to put a little extra thought into my wardrobe selection this morning.

Do you find sleep helps with making decisions – big or small- ?
“Never use the word “cheap”. Today everybody can look chic in inexpensive clothes (the rich buy them too). There is good clothing design on every level today. You can be the chicest thing in the world in a T-shirt and jeans — it’s up to you.”
― Karl Lagerfeld
When on shopping trips I tend to look for the best bargain. (who doesn’t!?!) Often I go to the sale rack first and work my way up from there. I try to keep in mind “Just because I don’t/can’t pay top dollar doesn’t mean it can’t be pretty and look good.”
When I was younger, as with most, everything was something I needed. Mom I need this… Dad I have to have that… oh my gosh!! I need it! My dad would always stress to me to stop and really contemplate is it something you need or something you want. To this day when shopping I always go through the question: need or want? I’m not saying though that frivolous and indulgent purchases aren’t warranted at times… that’s another post!
